Schedule for the August 2013 Knife Tour
Sunday Aug 25: Meet in Hotel Lobby at 7pm for greeting and dinner
Monday, Aug 26: Meet at the hotel ~8am, Knife making (mainly hand-forging) in Sakai city with one of Kikuichi’s master craftsmen.
Tuesday, Aug 27: Knife making (mainly hand-sharpening) in Sakai city. Visiting a vinegar and soy sauce factory
Tuesday, Aug 27: Mini trade show to provide a chance to have direct business with selected Japanese manufacturers. This is being organized by the Sakai City Industrial council.
Wednesday, Aug 28: Visiting the ancient city of Nara where Kikuichi’s headquarters and main showroom are located. Hand-engraving your knife at Kikuichi’s showroom.
Thursday, Aug 29: Travel to Tokyo by Bullet train (about 3 hours) and free time in the afternoon. If you are sign up for Exclusive Tsukiji Fish market tour on Aug 30th, please join our Sushi deinner in Ginza. Estimate cost per person is $220 per person. This price is fair for sushi in Ginza.
Friday, Aug 30 (EARLY ~4:30AM): Visit to the world famous Tokyo Tsukiji Fish Market to see the live auction of Tuna. The auction is not open to the general public, but we will be able to obtain a special pass to attend the market and the auction. Farewell and good luck after the visit to the market.
